This activity went well into the Big Idea of celebrations because to me, I think that it shows something that consistently changes. People celebrate changes and eyes consistently change, I have to wear contacts because my eyes changed and I can't see very well anymore. Whenever I first got my contacts and learned how to put them in, my family celebrated as well as my teachers. I had issues seeing during class so my teachers as well as myself was very thankful that I got contacts. The contacts helped me to see everything clearer and more brightly. I liked the idea of this activity and would incorporate it into my classroom by encouraging the students to make something in their life that has changed. Whether it was good or bad, I think it would be good for them to see all the different things that change in people's lives. This could be incorporated when talking about the change of seasons or something like that. I don't necessarily think that it ties into celebrations but if I had to explain it, I would say that all of the different colors show how bright change can be and it helps people to see things clearer.
